Welcome Back!
Over the next couple of weeks, the Kindergarten students will learn the calendar in Spanish. The students will be introduced on how to pronounce the months and days of the week. Also, they will learn some weather words. The children will be able to say the date and answer some simple calendar questions when we are done. We will also continue to work on counting to thirty and recognize the numerals to fifteen.
Our First Grade students will begin learning the Spanish alphabet. The students will be able to identify and name the letters in random order. Also, they will read and spell simple words.
Second Graders will be learning about their community. For example, they will learn how to say and recognize words that label common buildings found in our community. Escuela means school. After reviewing all the new words, ten places will be chosen and described to the students then the children will try to figure out which location is being described. The students will respond in Spanish. They will also role play situations and have others guess which place is being acted out. They really enjoy this game and learning from each other.
